Last year I flew down to Durban, South Africa, which has by the way a brand new airport. Therefore the King Shaka International airport must be one of the most modern airports today. After my flight has landed; an Emirates flight from Dubai also landed at this airport. I observed that most of the people on board that flight was from Indian descend, which have clearly took a connecting flight which originated from India. This was not really a surprise to me because most people from Indian decent that live in South Africa live in the province of KwaZulu-Natal of which Durban is the capital.
So a lot of people living in KwaZulu-Natal have family and friends in India and vice versa. Then I thought by myself way is it that there is not a direct flight which connecting Durban with any of the large cities in India, like Mumbai, Chennai or Calcutta? You should have expected that some entrepreneur with enough money to start an airline hasn’t jet made the same observation! I wondered way?
